The Cuisine is international with superb table d'Hote cooking by your Hostess
Overal the Hotel run by Hetty and Alan is a complete unforgettable package of hospitality and caring attention.

This year the Tillekes and their friends departed from the usual week at Castle Monda and decided to try a Country House Hotel " Cortijo Puerto El Peral " nestling in the foot hills some 30 kms north of Malaga. We arrived to be greeted by Hendrika and Alan.
We soon learnt that the Hotel was only 4 years old and realised the dream that Hetty had had since she was a little girl.
The Hotel was spotless throughout and had been built in the Spanish tradition on the edge of a National Park rich with wild life and plants of the Region.
From the Mirador we could see the mountains in the distance with the Torcal range dominating the "ground" to the south of Antequera.

See Hendrika's Gallery of Outstanding Modern Art on the Antiqueprintshop Website.

Although most meals are taken on the Terrace the dining room is spacious and typical of the Region with just a hint of Northern European influence, and the walls handsomely decorated with Hendrika's Modern Art.
Hendrika (Hetty) is not only a Painter but an accomplished cook, and her Lunches and Dinners delighted us all !!

The lounge area situated at the other end of the Cortija is a an extremely comfortable room and again furnished with a elegant mix of Andalucian and other European "Antique" furniture with the only Television in the Hotel.
The hall reception area and the sweeping staircase dominate the central part of the Hotel, and is amply decorated with quality Art Work and yet more of Hetty's fine paintings

The "cloistered" court yard surrounds a charming fountain feature and enjoys various exotic plants and palms.
Chairs and tables are strategically placed to offer Couples or Groups just enough privacy so often neglected by more conventional Hotels.
The "babble" of the fountain makes this area one of my most favourite places and again Hetty's Art Work adorns the Walls and she can often be seen during quiet times working on yet another creation.

On the rare occasions when clouds dominate the pure blue sky the formations and Kaleidoscope of colours especially above the mountains are magnificent to see, and are particularly evident at dusk.

"Mine Host" Alan is a robust Gentleman and whilst some might say "laid back" this is just not true. He shops, greets, waits, entertains and above all cares for his Guests..providing such delights as far apart as Good Riojas to Anti-Snoring aids...thank you Alan.. you certainly saved me from sleeping in the Court yard. !!

Visit Andalucia in style at this truly unique Hotel.

At last a picture of the Artist sitting alongside two of her paintings in the leafy courtyard of her Cortijo.
