From a Book/Folio. Chelsea(Fulham) An original etching by J A M'cNEIL WHISTLER signed in the plate with the butterfly and inscribed.20 x 13 cms/ 8"x 5".
'The print is known as 'Fulham'to the cataloguers.It was made in 1879 when Whistler was in dire financial straits following the libel trial with Ruskin.The edition was published by the Fine Art Society with Whistler apparently supervising the printing himself.At some later stage he sold the plate,(as he did with two others of the Thames-side views in 1879.) So after the publication of the reproduction in 1881,the Art Journal,had access to the plate and was able to print an edition for their Special Issue. In those days the sale of the plate included the copyright so Whistler had no further involvement or possibility of gain from it's exploitation.
Almost certainly the Art Journal version. 
Unrestored, on creme paper with very slight foxing.
