WENCESLAUS HOLLAR (1607-1677) was born in Prague and etched mainly for book illustrative purposes, and although not the most accomplished in artistic merit they are however of great historical interest which makes them most important ant collectable. Wine making, bee keeping, farming, horticulture, and martial arts are areas well covered by this prolific Old Master.
Some of the prints have been scanned in grayscale and the rich patination of the paper colour can be seen more clearly on the Text page, which was scanned in colour..
