These Prints are 360 year old Copperplate Engravings printed on laid paper with chain lines approx. 1 inch apart. Etched by JOHANN WILHELM BAUR during the late 1630s and published shortly after his death in 1641 they are typical of the North German School somewhat rough but full of life. Baur was closely influenced by Callot ( Hinds history of Engraving) Fine quality they are oblong 4to measuring 8.2 x 6 inches and generally in very good condition.Some light foxing is evident but could be cleaned..
